Treating heart disease is what HCA Midwest Heart Care does well, but our teams also want to be at the forefront of education and prevention. Our hospitals have had a long-standing relationship with the American Heart Association and have been key participants in local fund-raising and awareness efforts, including the annual Heart Walk and the Go Red for Women movement.
Our heart care specialists are in a unique position to advance care through research, education and service. Our Kansas City Heart Foundation, which was founded in 1999 and formally incorporated as a non-profit organization in 2000, has very specific objectives in the treatment and prevention of heart disease and pursues several different projects in order to meet them. Foundation initiatives include the funding of clinical studies and educational programs. The executive committee, board of directors and the study team all work together to make these goals a reality.
