Van Veldhuizen, M.D. has joined Sarah Cannon HCA Midwest Health and the accredited Sarah Cannon at Menorah Medical Center. Dr. Van Veldhuizen, renowned in his field and an expert in Genitourinary Medical Oncology—which includes diagnosis and treatment of cancers of the urinary tract and male genital tract—is board-certified in Hematology, Oncology and Internal Medicine. Prior to joining Sarah Cannon at Menorah Medical Center, Dr. Van Veldhuizen was Division Director of Hematology/Oncology and Professor of Internal Medicine at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Dr. Van Veldhuizen is a member of the American College of Physicians, the American Association for Cancer Research, the American Society for Clinical Oncology, the American Medical Association and Southwest Oncology Group. Dr. Van Veldhuizen has been recognized as one of “America’s Top Oncologists” by the Consumer’s Research Council of America, and consistently voted a “Best Doctor in Kansas City”.
Dr. Van Veldhuizen received a bachelor of science in chemistry from the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, South Dakota. He received his medical degree from the University of South Dakota School of Medicine and completed his residency and fellowship at the University of Kansas Medical Center.
