Over the past 20 years, deaths from colon cancer have been dropping, mainly because it is being detected earlier and removed before it turns into cancer.  This is proof that early screening can make all the difference. Dr. Joseph Stilwill, of Menorah Medical Center, recommends that you begin testing at age 50 or 10 years prior to age in which the first-degree family member was diagnosed.
