Amie C Jew, MD

Amie C. Jew, MD, breast surgeon, is considered a gifted clinician by her colleagues. Dr. Jew works with breast cancer patients at The Breast Center at Menorah Medical Center, including the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer and undiagnosed breast problems. Dr. Jew is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Women's Medical Association, the Missouri State Medical Society, the Kansas State Medical Society and the Metropolitan Medical Society. Dr. Jew performs a wide range of breast surgical procedures including skin- and nipple-sparing mastectomy and oncoplastics, in addition to breast conserving options and MammoSite. Dr. Jew received her medical degree from the University of Wisconsin and completed an internship and her residency in general surgery at the University of Kansas Medical Center. In addition to her passion for being attentive and sensitive to a patient's physical and emotional needs, Dr. Jew is regarded as a big-picture visionary who acknowledges a patient's support system within the medical community is just as vital to recovery as someone's family-and-friend network. Dr. Jew's professional essence goes beyond the operating room at Menorah Medical Center's Breast Center. Her innate ability to connect and establish meaningful relationships with patients and their families is a signature trait: she understands what it means to be a woman, and especially a young woman, facing the possibility of losing one or both breasts or waging a battle against breast cancer. Dr. Jew consistently demonstrates the ability to establish warm, personal connections with patients. Dr. Jew is active in the community, having served on the Menorah Legacy Foundation board; as an advisory board member for The Light Center; and as a team member for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. Currently Dr. Jew is a board member for the Ribbons of Pink Foundation and is a member of the Menorah Auxiliary. In addition, Dr. Jew has been honored for her work with myriad awards, including the Women of Worth Award; as a Top Doctor in Ingram's Magazine; as the top medical team for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure; a teaching award from the University of Kansas Medical Center; and the 'You Make a Difference' honor from The Young Survival Coalition.
