Generally, patients can be treated in urgent care for colds, flu, sore throats, sprains, minor burns and injuries, ear infections, non-life-threatening allergic reactions, skin rashes, mild asthma, and broken bones.

The primary difference in a hospital-owned urgent care facility and an emergency room is the diagnostic equipment that is available.
