Steve Wilkinson, FACHE, President and Chief Executive Officer of Menorah Medical Center and longtime community supporter and collaborator, has joined the Leawood Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.

Wilkinson has been at the helm of Menorah Medical Center, which is part of HCA Midwest Health System—Kansas City’s largest healthcare network—since 1997. The full-service, acute-care hospital, a healthcare leader in the Kansas City area, has more than 600 physicians covering the spectrum of specialties and was Johnson County’s first hospital to be dual-certified as an Accredited Chest Pain Center by the Society of Chest Pain Centers and as a Certified Stroke Care Center by The Joint Commission. The Breast Center at Menorah is fully accredited by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers. In December 2013, Menorah received accreditation as a Level 1 Bariatric Surgery Center.

Wilkinson’s myriad of community involvement includes the Johnson County Community College Board of Trustees; the Johnson County Community Foundation; the Arts and Recreation Foundation of Overland Park; Overland Park Chamber of Commerce; Blue Valley Educational Foundation; and the Community Blood Center of Kansas City. In 2012 Wilkinson received the prestigious Charles S. Billings Award from the Kansas Hospital Association for his distinguished contribution and lifetime of service to Kansas healthcare.

“It is my honor to join the Leawood Chamber of Commerce Board,” says Wilkinson. “Leawood is a vibrant and dynamic community and under the leadership of Mayor Peggy Dunn is one of the reasons quality of life in this part of the Kansas City metropolitan area is always ranked high. I look forward to supporting a community that has supported Menorah Medical Center for decades.”

Wilkinson notes that Menorah Medical Center physicians and employees have a robust tradition of community service.

“It is part of the Menorah culture, to serve the community in which we provide high-quality, comprehensive healthcare,” he says.  “This is our neighborhood and we value our relationships.”
