WHO: Menorah Medical Center
WHAT: Annual PINK Party on the Menorah campus, including young Kansas City breast cancer survivors Tina Herold and Bret Miller sharing their compelling stories; walk-in screening mammograms; the Ford Care exhibit; free bra fittings; pink hair extensions; and nail art and body massages. In addition, hors d’oeuvres and a signature pink drink will be served and each attendee will receive a pink ribbon. The afternoon will conclude with a 5:45 p.m. balloon release in Menorah’s garden to remember those affected by breast cancer.

WHY: Tina Herold of Overland Park and Bret Miller of Prairie Village, selected as two of Ford’s Models of Courage, a national campaign to raise awareness of breast cancer, both are young breast cancer survivors representing the new breed of breast cancer warrior. The two are determined, engaged, gut-level honest and relentless in their message of early detection and intervention—which matches the philosophy of The Breast Center at Menorah Medical Center: No Excuses. Get Screened. Herold and Miller will help The Breast Center at Menorah kick off its annual Breast Cancer Awareness Month at the PINK Party. The Breast Center at Menorah Medical Center, fully accredited by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers, provides comprehensive breast care from prevention and screening to diagnosis, treatment and survivorship care. The prestigious, all-encompassing accreditation recognizes physician leadership and vision, research-based standards of care and quality initiatives. Accreditation by the NAPBC is given only to those breast centers that have voluntarily committed to provide the highest level of quality breast care and that undergo a rigorous evaluation process and review of their performance. The designation means that The Breast Center at Menorah is among the best comprehensive breast centers in the country.
