When expectant mothers visit area hospitals to choose where they’ll deliver their precious new one, Menorah Medical Center is at the top of the list when it comes to the expertise of physicians, nurses and OB technicians, along with advanced care and the comforts of home provided in the Family Birthing Center. The center features all-private Birthing Suites and the Mother-Baby Care unit where new families share their first moments together.
Menorah Medical Center—part of HCA Midwest Health System, Kansas City’s largest healthcare network—announces that its award-winning Family Birthing Center will undergo a $350,000 facelift this fall. The center, which is ranked in the top five of 110 hospitals within HCA Healthcare nationwide in patient satisfaction and discharge teaching for birthing centers, offers a full list of amenities for mothers. Beginning in September, the center will receive an aesthetic refresh to complete the level of high-quality, exceptional care offered by 80 nurses and OB technicians.
Kathy Jackson, MSN, director of the Family Birthing Center at Menorah, says the remodel will enhance the patient experience. “Mothers have depended on the expertise of the Family Birthing Center for decades for a seamless labor, delivery and recovery experience,” says Jackson. “We’re excited that our interior is receiving an update to match the advanced services we offer.”
The Family Birthing Center at Menorah is specially designed to accommodate mothers, babies and families in each unique stage of the birthing experience. The suites provide the comforts of home, including flat screen televisions, recliners, and private bathrooms. Moms can put the labor process behind them, get to know their new baby, and share their new joy with friends and family. The hospital also offers specialized care in its Level IIb Neonatal Intensive Care unit, which provides assurance that specialized care is immediately available at birth if necessary.
It will be business as usual during the remodel, with new mothers welcoming their babies into the world at the Family Birthing Center. Renovations are expected to be complete in early 2012.
